Mandate & Functions

Established by Presidential Executive Order No. 1 of 2025, the State Department for Science, Research and Innovation in Kenya is tasked with driving the national research system, integrating R&D into economic development, and managing the National Innovation System. It focuses on enhancing STEM, commercializing innovations, and fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
